Thefts of supermarket trolleys are costing the industry a record £20 million a year.
The £100 trolleys are increasingly being stolen from supermarkets by organised gangs and sold as scrap.
Trolleywise, a company which recovers trolleys, says thieves are removing their handles to make them difficult to identify.

£20million of trolleys lost per year. Either the supermarkets are making so much profits to ignore the replacement cost or they are simply helpless against these gangsters.
